A thought for the future
Opening a door onto the wisdom and ingenuity of crowds. Aims to emulate and relay creative practices that have benefited our species, our planet and its biodiversity.
The pasture and woodland will be the base to host learning opportunities made possible by symbiotic relationships around animal rearing, horticulture, allied food producing systems plus wood, bush & field crafts together with simply enjoying being in the natural countryside environment, coined biophilia enrichment by Erich Fromm
Featuring courses and events for learning about our natural environment and human scale creation of healthy foods and countryside lifestyle products. Where appropriate these activities will be entwined with thoughts to stimulate our mental process - critical thinking, positive self awareness - with guidance for relaxation, confidence building and personal development - together with green exercise and healthy eating practices.
Envisaged as another spark in the resurgence of the cultural and economic integrity of Devon, the pasture and woodland will develop as a mixed livestock farm. Horticulture is targeted as an area for experimentation.
The idea is to live lightly on the ground and seek to buttress the resurgence in the understanding that soil, water, trees, the hills and dales are real tangible wealth when compared to gold and paper money.
Ecological aspirations are:
* To be "off grid" and as independent as possible.
* To heal the damage done to the farm by neglect whilst stimulating biodiversity and nurturing the local biosphere.
* To experiment with innovations in permaculture where permaculture is defined as:
Care of the Earth --- Care of the People --- Share the Surplus
Goffin Land is open to creative minds to further these objectives through cooperative endeavour / shared enterprise.
